The first look of the brand new 2011
Chrysler 200 was released on Tuesday, September 14th. This new 200 was made to
replace the Sebring line. To go along with the new vehicle, Chrysler's new
winged logo was placed on the grille. In a press release, Chrysler states that the craftsmanship, spirited driving experience, innovative
technology, "abundance of standard safety features," and
an "extraordinary level of standard content" makes this new and improved from
the previously known Sebring style. So basically, they state that "virtually" every system is
either new or upgraded for 2011.
Exterior
As far as the front of the vehicle goes, there are new projector headlamps and fog lights. Also, as stated above, the new Chrysler winged logo is placed on the grille of this sedan. For the rear of the Chrysler 200, there is a new rear fascia and LED tail lights.
The new exterior is a bit different from previous Chrysler body styles, but is it good enough to draw in Chrysler and non-Chrysler fans?
Performance/Handling
What exactly
does is take to meet someones expectations for performance? Chrysler did what
they thought was appropriate for this brand new sedan. As most vehicles keep
improving on fuel economy, performance, etc., we hope that this 200 doesn't let
us down and gives us great fuel efficiency. We do not know for sure yet as to
what the fuel stats are but what we do know -
As said by Chrysler their self, the Chrysler 200 gets a new powertrain lineup featuring the 2.4-liter I-4 World Gas Engine mated to either a four-speed or six-speed automatic transaxle, or the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine which produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle; improved ride and handling tuning which includes stiffened body mounts and softer ride rate, improved suspension geometry with a raised roll center, a new rear sway bar, and new tires and an extensively upgraded treatment for the reduction of noise, vibration and harshness including acoustic laminated glass for the windshield and front door windows.
The new 2011 Chrysler 200 provides drivers a slick looking sedan, a smooth ride, and new and improved specs of the vehicle. We will have to wait for this Chrysler to be fully revealed and be released to dealerships to get a real look at what is in store for this new and first-ever Chrysler 200.
